Introduced in 2016, the Richard Mille RM 67-01 was conceived as an ultra-thin watch that sacrifices nothing in technical sophistication. Its case measures just 7.75 mm in thickness, housing the in-house CRMA6 caliber — the brand’s sixth self-developed movement — at a remarkable 3.6 mm slim. Solid metal numerals are mounted on two rigid titanium rails attached directly to the movement, each sculpted and filled with white paint to enhance visual depth across the openwork dial.
The case demands extraordinary manufacturing precision:8 days of machine adjustmentfor the bezel, 5 days for the case band, and 5 days for the back bezel. Before production begins, 145 hours are spent on developing machine methodology, 130 hours on tooling schematics, and 180 hours on final implementation, with each case ultimately requiring more than 215 individual machining operations.
